The Australian College of Nursing (ACN) engaged HMA to develop, conduct, analyse and report on surveys of Aged Care Nursing Scholarship recipients in both 2013 and 2014, designed to assess their education and employment experiences. The scholarship program aimed to encourage people to enter aged care nursing as a career, assist nurses regain their registration, increase knowledge and skills of registered nurses working in the aged care sector, and retain nurses in the aged care workforce.

Key components of the project included:

  • Developing an evaluation framework
  • Developing and piloting survey tools
  • Undertaking two annual surveys of nurses in 2013 and 2014
  • Preparing reports on the key findings.

The project commenced in June 2013 and was completed in April 2014
