The Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing engaged HMA to undertake an evaluation of the Pregnancy, Birth and Baby Helpline and Web Portal. The helpline and portal provided a coordinated entry point to free, confidential information, advice and support for women, their partners and families relating to issues of conception, pregnancy, birthing and postnatal care up until 12 months after birth. The aim of the evaluation was to assess the effectiveness, efficiency and appropriateness of the Helpline and Web Portal.

The project involved the preparation of a situation analysis, development and implementation of an evaluation framework and consultation via face-to-face interviews, surveys, and focus groups with vulnerable populations.

The project commenced in August 2011 and was completed in June 2012.
