Josh joined HMA in 2024, bringing skills in research, oral and written communication, literature reviews, evidence synthesis, data analysis, data visualisation, and editing. He is a published and awarded researcher with experience in the fields of obstetrics, neonatology, paediatrics, and reproductive health. Throughout his research, Josh has engaged with patients, clinicians, researchers, and biotech companies.

Since joining HMA, Josh has worked on multiple projects for the Federal Department of Health and Aged Care. He has had experience performing situational analyses, desktop reviews, literature reviews, survey design and has developed evaluation frameworks, consultation frameworks, and consultation guides. He has undertaken stakeholder consultations and is experienced in thematic analysis to summarise qualitative findings.

Josh completed his PhD (with Dean’s Commendation) at the University of Adelaide looking at the early origins of health and disease alongside teams at the Robinson Research Institute. He has also completed an MBA (Leadership) at Central Queensland University, applying business theories and processes to wicked problems within health.

In addition, Josh has experience in the higher education setting as a tutor and workshop facilitator in the areas of anatomy, physiology, and health innovations.
