Far West NSW Local Health District (FWNSW LHD) – Strategic Plan

The FWNSW LHD engaged HMA to develop a strategic plan of the service for the period 2016 to 2021, identifying five priority areas of the LHD:

• Enhancing our communities’ access to evidence based, high quality, integrated health care
• Communicating effectively with all stakeholders
• Establishing the LHD as an employer of choice
• Maintaining accountability for all resources available to the LHD.

The project identified specific strategies and an implementation plan for each, to guide the day-to-day activities of the senior management team working in partnership with the staff of FWLHD and their service delivery partners.

Key tasks involved:

• describing the scope of FWLHD operations
• conducting an environmental analysis, including customers, health service gaps and drivers for change
• presenting the detailed strategies for the next five years.

The project commenced and was completed in June 2016.
