Defining the value proposition of the Brain Cancer Centre – Brain Cancer Centre
The Brain Cancer Centre (BCC) engaged HMA to assist the BCC in articulating its value proposition and defining success measures. The BCC’s mission is to drive connections between researchers and fund discoveries that will change the lives of current and future brain cancer patients. Its vision is that no lives are lost to brain cancer. The BCC’s coordinated funding strategy aims to add value to brain cancer research by strategically funding research through networking and research collaboration. Key tasks included:
- Project initiation and planning
- Value proposition workshop – HMA facilitated a workshop with key BCC stakeholders and Research Leads to glean insights about the virtual centre, its research priorities, and activities undertaken to achieve its vision and mission
- Desktop review – HMA reviewed relevant BCC documentation and undertook a high-level literature scan (peer-reviewed and grey literature) to explore other collaboration models and potential success measures
- Stakeholder engagement – HMA prepared a detailed stakeholder engagement plan and consultation questions. We consulted with a select group of BCC researchers and key stakeholders to explore collaboration models, the benefits of participation in the BCC, enablers and barriers to participation, and future opportunities for the BCC.
- Program logic development – We developed a program theory and logic for the BCC that articulated the value proposition, the strategy to achieve the centre’s objectives and key indicators of success for ongoing monitoring and reporting.
The project commenced in October 2024 and was completed in February 2025.
