Mental Health Needs Assessment – Wentworth Healthcare

Wentworth Healthcare Limited (WHL), provider of the Nepean Blue Mountains Primary Health Network (NBMPHN) engaged HMA to provide a comprehensive analysis of existing mental health and suicide prevention and related data relevant to the Nepean Blue Mountains region, to assist the organisation in updating the 2016 initial mental health needs assessment. The project included the following tasks:

• undertaking a health needs analysis of the catchment population based on analysis of publicly available health data and estimated resident population statistics
• undertaking a service needs analysis of the catchment based on current service provision compared to population health
• preparation of a discussion paper to facilitate consultation with key stakeholders via a workshop
• preparation of a final report based on workshop feedback.

The project commenced in September 2016 and was completed in December 2016.
